Gray Wind Smart Blinds: a minute review
Gray Wind offers a variety of smart blinds, including zebra, panel tracks, vertical, ventures and wooden blinds. They also have various smart shades, including roller, Roman, cellular, double and more. They even have smart curtains. Within each category, you can choose from the selection of size, fabrics and colors.
Then you select your motor with five options: Eve Apple Home Kit Motor, Rechargeable Bill RF Motor, Zigbi Alexa Motor, Maset Smart Motor, or Hard Wired Wi -Fi motor. I chose zebra blinds and Eve Apple Home Cut Motor, as I will use my iPhone and Home Pod to control the blinds.
I cannot say that Gray Wind was easy to make and run smart blinds. The patch that was added to installation was not a tremendous standard, which meant that they were easily snatched. The setup was also a little difficult. Still, I managed to lift and run everything. Once completed, the blinds work as expected. You can set up scenes or automations that allow you to open and close your selection schedule or situation. You can also control the blinds by using your smartphone, sound, or just your hands.
Gray Wind Smart Blinds: Price and Availability
- Starting price is relatively in cheap
- May be expensive with opticians
- Customs fit for many sizes
You can order Gray Wind smart sheds, curtains and blinds directly from the Gray Wind website or you can buy them from Amazon. Prices start at 9 109.99 (£ 82.04/169.88 AUD). I also added a solar panel and an extra long wall charging cable. In size and style the blinds you see in my pictures go to 276.99 (206.59/427.97 AUD). If you want to fit the blinds properly, it is important to measure your windows carefully. I chose the outside mount style and measured it accordingly.
Gray Wind Smart Blinds: Design
- Hard installation and setup
- Easily and quietly goes up and down
- Blinds can be trapped in solar panel charging cable
You will need to access the Gray Wind Smart Blinds You will need to be very easy and access to a drill. You will also need to be patient and cautious, as the patch involved is soft and easily stripped.
Note that if you are charging the blinds through a solar charger, blinds can easily get into charging cord. I have achieved this problem by not opening the blinds 100 %. But I should not do that.

Once you install and charge the blinds by solar panel or wall charger, you are ready to configure them with your smartphone. I ordered two sets of blinds for Windows exactly with each other. I was able to set up the first one using the home app on my iPhone.

For some reason, I was unable to set up another set like this. I had to download Eve app on my iPhone and set it there. Once this was done, I managed to control both the sets of blinds through the home or Eve app.

There is also a bridge bone that you can use for manual operation, if you want. On the bridge bone, the blind moves the blind in one direction, the second tug stops them, and the third tug moves them in the other direction.
Are these the most beautiful blinds I have ever seen? No, and ‘fabric’ is plastic. But they look right, and they do what they have to do.
Gray Wind Smart Blinds: Performance
- Many different ways can be overcome
- Use with Google, Amazon, or Apple
- The method of opening and closing works beautifully
As mentioned above, there are five different types of motors, so you would like to make your choice carefully. I chose Eve Apple Home Cut Motor, because I have both the iPhone and the home pod. But you do not work directly with BLE RF motor (Bluetooth directly with the gray wind app, no bridge), hard -wired Wi -Fi motor (no bridge needed), Zigbi Alexa motor, or a case smart motor (which also allows Alexa, Google, Home Kit or SmartThings). If you are not sure, a detailed guide on the site can help you choose the right for your home.
As mentioned above, I was only able to set up one of the blinds using the Apple Home app. I had to use the Eve app to configure the other. Another little bulp was that a blind initially wanted to roll in the wrong way, but I managed to resolve the problem with the owner’s manual.
Once your blinds are ready, it is easy to control them. You can use your smartphone and tap to select how far you want them open, up to one percent below. You can also use bone to control them. If you don’t like bone shape and you are not using it, you can easily remove it.

You can also set up scenes and automations, so that your blinds can be open and close at specific times or in specific conditions for your choice. For example, you can open blinds at sunrise and get closer at sunset. Or, when you say “Good morning!” And when you say, close, “Good night!” Or when you get out of the house and get home, bring them closer. I just prepared to open and close a certain percentage at a certain time. But there are endless ways you can set them. I tried in many different ways and they all did a great job.

How did I experience Gray Wind Smart Blinds
I placed gray wind smart blinds in two bedroom windows. I tested the blinds in a number of different ways. I opened and closed them using the Apple Home App, Eve app, and control center on my iPhone, using home and home as a center. I asked Suri to open and close the blind. I set up an automation to open the blinds at 8:00 pm and close them at 9:00 pm every day. I also used manual bone to open and close the blinds.
