- Google Maps V25.28 Stable and V25.29 Son have removed these app media playback control.
- The removed feature allowed easy access to play, browse tips, or open the default music app.
- It is unclear whether the removal was deliberate or just a bug, because the functionality on iOS is still there.
Google Maps is one of the best apps for Android devices, but it’s not perfect. There are many ways to improve Google Maps experience, and a good initial step is to maintain the features they use and not remove them, especially if alternative functionality is not available. It is significantly difficult to control your music while traveling from the latest change in Google Maps, and it is very surprising.
As the spot has happened 9TO5GOGLEGoogle Maps V25.28 Stable Nation Maps V25.29 Beta has removed the media playback control that has been shown at the bottom of the app when navigating.
Media controls were a swipe away at the bottom, and you can easily control the playback from here. Customers can also tap to replace the brows brows buttons for nine quick tips. If you need more options, there was an easy shortcut to open the music app quickly. If you need more screen real estate, you can swipe control to remove them from the way.
Show these easy media control shortcuts of Google Maps Settings> Navigation> Media Playback Control. This feature worked with YouTube music and spots, and you can also select your default media app. However, the update of Google’s new maps on both stable and beta channels has removed them all.
This feature was my default way to control music playback when navigating. Although there are other external ways to overcome playback, it was very easy to control the navigation screen as it only minimized the disturbances and taps needed to change the song. Now, you have to change your music player app or use the active media player notification in the notification panel to control the playback, that is, you have to go away from the map screen and, worse, engage for a few more seconds while driving.
It is not immediately clear whether it is deliberate or just a bug, but its price is available on Google Maps for iOS, what is cost.
