Insta 360 Mike Air: Two -minute Review

Following in the footsteps of DJI, Road, Ceramonic, Holland and more, Insta 360 We have Insta 360 Mike Air, a compact, a compact, cheap wireless microphone designed with video creators – especially those who use Insta 360 X5 or Insta 360 ACC camera.

Of the size of the button, the ultra -lightweight mic air transmitter (AKA TX) can connect wireless wireless to any of the aforementioned Insta360 camera, either replace the online Mics or team. The idea is that it has offered a loving shield to remove 48 kg / 24 -bit audio, optional noise, and remove air noise.

After experimenting with Mike Air on a sharp day on the English coast, I am very happy with the results. With carefully connecting the windshield, the occasional strong breeze noise has been completely eliminated, as described below the video below. I say “carefully” because Insta 360 has chosen a slightly unconventional method for attachment: the shield is applied to a rubber ring that slips around the sides of the TX, and some caution should be taken to ensure that it is straightened above the mic grill.

A form of noise reduction is also available by double tapping TX’s power button. It is quite effective, helps to negate the background drone and neighbor without distorting the final audio. You can also adjust the MIC gain in the menu screens of X5 or ACE PRO 2, and there is a screen indicator when you are recording that you present a theory of current advantage.

Directly connected to the X5 or ACE Pro 2, Mike Air is a short distance – about 30 to 50m. But add the recipient (or RX) and things get very few rooms, theoretical range goes up to 300 meters (real -world results are less than thanks to interference and obstacles).

Note – At the time of launch, Mike Air is compatible with only X5 and Ace Pro 2. Insta 360 says a firmware update is coming for X4, while Go 3/3s is not compatible with it. X3 and Ace Pro are also not compatible, but can also be under the line.

The recipient, who is also a small and lightweight, has a USB-C connector that enables you to plug it into the flow range of smartphones, tablets, laptops and other products, such as Insta 360’s smartphone gymables. It then sets up a wireless connection with the transmitter, so that when you hit the record button on your device, the audio recorded audio comes from the transmitter instead of your device’s microphone.

I still use an old iPhone model with electricity, so I was not able to test this procedure on my smartphone (Insta 360 has told me that the lighting version is a certain possibility for the future). Although I understand the decision not to offer the power option at the time of launch, it leaves some people out of the loop, as is a lack of 3.5 3.5 mm output of the cameras. Some other small, affordable mic, such as DJI Mike Mini and Flem X5M, offer wider contacts.

However, I applied Insta 360 Mike Air to a Android tablet at its speed, and the audio quality offered by the built -in mic got a great improvement. You don’t just need to use it for video capture, either – it will also improve the quality of sound notes and recording, zoom calls, and something else that requires mic use.

One thing that Insta 360 has performed really well with Mike Air is that various types of mounting options are offered. There is a button in the box, which allows you to connect TX with thin clothing, as well as a clip magnet that can crowded on callers, laps, bag straps and even hats. I have seen people who have practically every wireless mic I have reviewed, but there is also a magnet pendant, so the user can wear TX in their throat. It’s good to get an additional option.

The TX is also used in the magnet when rechargeing the battery, and locked it in its charging plate. The charging plate has used USB-A, which surprised me a little in 2025 where the USB-C is present everywhere, but I suspect that many people will struggle to find it somewhere for the plugin.

On the topic of the battery, TX offers 10 hours of use on full charge, which is slightly less than 11.5 hours of DJI Mike Money, but still very respectable.

Insta 360 Mike Air: Price and Availability

Insta -360 Mike Air is now available, with two options available. For buyers who own the Insta 360 X5 or ACE Pro 2 camera and just need a mic transmitter to contact it directly, the Mike Air Transmitter Package Price. 49.99 / £ 49.99 / AU is $ 89.99. It comes with a single TX unit, charging base, button magnet, magnet pendant, clip magnet, windshield and carcass case.

The need for more flexibility is the Insta-360 Mike Air (1 TX + 1 RX bundle), which includes all the above-mentioned USB-C recipient unit that can directly plug in smartphones, tablets, computers and more. It costs $ 69.99 / £ 69.99 / aU $ 129.99.

Insta 360 pricing seems very fair to me, though the recent prices have seen the DJI Mike Money (1 TX + 1 RX) bundle falling only $ 89 / £ 59 / aU $ 199, or falling on £ 78 / $ 139 with electric adapter. This is probably a better deal than Insta 360, if you can find it.

Should I buy Insta 360 Mike Air?

How did I experience Insta 360 Mike Air

    • I used it a week
    • I tested it with Insta 360 x5 camera and Android Tablet
    • I used it inside and outside the house

During a week I tested the full production version of Insta 360 Mike Air, used with Insta 360 x5 and my OnePlus Pad Android Tablet. With the X5, I went out on both days of calm and strong air, setting up its air with setup as a means of testing the ability to reducing the air.
