A story by Finnish Outlet Swomobili reported that Sony is pulling its smartphones from the local market and turning its attention to online channels.
Sony’s latest phones, including Experia 1 VII, Sony Finland’s website and its partners website are not currently available, and they are expected to be unavailable.
Sony confirmed that Experia 1 VII will not be sold in Finland and the company is focusing on “online shopping channels to provide an easy shopping experience to consumers on online shopping channels”. Sony says its flagship is available from its online store and through Amazon in selected European countries.
This is a similar story in other European markets. Sony’s online store does not list Xperia 1 VII in most European countries – Germany and the UK are noteworthy.
It seems that Sony is really reducing its smartphone business in the European market. Together with recent issues, Sony, with his Xperia 1 VII in his home market in Japan, is not good for the future of Express phones.
Sony’s complete reaction to Sonomobeli is: “Experia 1 VII is not available directly for purchase through Sony in Finland. However, we are constantly reviewing market profits and consumer demand. We are currently focusing on online shopping channels to provide all of our consumers in a smooth purchase process.”
