If your family has multiple Nintendo Switch 2, you don’t need to buy the same game for every console repeatedly. Instead, Nintendo offers two ways to share the same copy of the game purchased between multiple switch 2s, using a new feature called Virtual Game Cards. I’ll walk you through both.
However, before we get started, you may have heard about a feature called Game Share, which is also found in the lower line of the home screen. I’m not talking about the game share here.
Confused, the game share does not mean distributing or lending full sports with other systems. This is when you want to play a multi -player game using multiple switch 2 to play. You can use it to play Mario Cart with extra switch 2s, racing each other on the same track, for example, these are all from a copy of the game. If you had Nintendo DS, it is very similar to the DS Download Play.
In two features of sharing, I am walking down from the bottom, and in the video mentioned, are different. There are both ways to share sports between multiple switch 2 without buying multiple copies of the game. Let’s start.
Method 1: Load the game on another switch 2
The first method we will pass is the second, loading the game on separate switch 2 system. Both consoles will be able to play games themselves, but not at the same time. Also, as long as every system is able to connect to the Internet, the files will move between them. In this way, each system will remain the latest with progress on the other.
To start, you will need to sign your Nintendo account on both switch 2 systems. On the secondary device (one without play) go to the virtual game card, and select your account. Here you will be able to see all the sports associated with this account, and no game with an empty cartridge icon is currently packed on this system. Select the game you want to share and then load it on the system.
Then you will be indicated to connect both switch 2s together if you haven’t already done so. If this is doing this for the first time, you may need to link your account with a original switch, as I had to be with my old switch OLED (the picture above).
Select the “link to the primary” console and wait for them to be integrated. Make sure the two are on the same Wi -Fi network.
On the secondary console, you will see that they are now successfully connected with each other. Then you can move forward to load it on this system. Once loaded, the game will automatically start downloading.
To prevent sharing, go to the virtual game card on the primary system, select the game, and load it on this system. This will eliminate access to the secondary system.
Method 2: Loan to a family member
Now look at other ways to share your game library. It is called a loan to a member of the Family Group and it works like lending to a library book. But don’t get confused with words – we’re not talking about the Nintendo Switch Online Family. This is a way to use if you do not want your personal Nintendo account connected to multiple switch 2 consoles.
The first thing you need is to include another member, in this case my most account, accounts.com/family in my family group. After following the instructions and adding a new member, return to the primary switch 2. Go to the virtual game card, select the game, then lend to the family group member.
Switch 2 will mention here that these Lent Games can only come out for 14 days at a time, before they come back automatically (like the library book). Choose a user’s choice for lending, then you will need to bring both switch 2s closer to each other.
On the secondary device, continue. Go to the virtual game card and choose to borrow. Once the transfer, the game will start downloading.
On the primary switch 2, you will not be able to play the game when it becomes a debt. You will also be able to see which members of your family group are.
It is also worth noting that each member can borrow only one game at a time. If you want your game back, select the game and then submit it from the family group member. The secondary device will not be warned. Once it is filled, the secondary switch 2 will be unable to play the game automatically.
There you have both ways to share sports in multiple switch 2s. Hopefully this helps you know which option will work best for your gaming setup.
