The company behind Nord Security, the best VPNS, Nord VPN, showed full details of its carbon footprint in its 2024 impact report.
In 2024, the company released 23,014 tonnes of carbon dioxide for greenhouse gas emissions (TCO2E). It is about 0.3 % of the coca -coa emission for the year (7.4 mtco2E) or 0.006 % of the total emission of the UK (371 mtco2E).
In this report, now in its third year, the company’s charitable work and its social initiatives are also covered, which is in both its home country, Lithuania and beyond.

This is the second year when Nord has calculated greenhouse gas emissions. The report now also covers the company’s value China’s indirect emissions, with 97 % of its emission beyond direct control of the company.
Nord Security claims that its almost 50 % deposit server uses renewable energy, and the company is allegedly looking for options to enhance the use of renewable sources in its server infrastructure.
Looking forward, the company’s goal is to identify opportunities to reduce emissions and improve decision -making on energy purchases and performance measures. Nord Security is also working with its suppliers on cooperation efforts to reduce its effects in its supply chains.
