Google Home has a new update that will make family or guests easier to control the equipment in your smart home. The latest Google Home Update introduces “Admin” and “Member” roles.

Like many systems, admin characters will have full control over smart home -connected devices, services and users. Meanwhile, members will only have “basic” access to device controls, such as turn off your child’s lights or unlock the smart door.

The lower level character can get additional privileges by accessing “settings”, which allows them to control the device and home settings. There is also access to an activity that allows members to keep an eye on recent events, such as when to supply packages and can be viewed via indoor bull camera.

The member level has been in the test since December 2024, but now it seems ready for the public.

In addition, the Google Home app is making it easier to add a baby under the age of 13. You will set your child with a Google account via family link. From there you can invite them to Google Home, where they will be included as a member.

Earlier, setting something like you need to use a collection of family links, Google Home or Google Assistant to add your child to the smart home. Apparently, many people struggled to do so.

The update is version 3.33 for your Google Home app. It should be available now, if your app does not automatically update, check your settings and see if the update is available. Unlike most of Google’s updates, there is no rollout language so we expect it to be available to everyone by June 30.
