Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller: One minute Review

The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller launches itself with the console, and I have been using it as my Go -to -Switch 2 game pad since the launch day. While I was already impressed in the Switch 2 Hands on Preview event a few months ago, in fact keeping it at home may have been strengthened as my favorite controller of this year.

The mission statement is a simple: Provide a latest version of the excellent Nintendo Switch Pro Controller – easily is one of the best Nintendo Switch controllers for this original console – while maintaining things that players love about this original model. I think this is mostly obtained with switch 2 Pro Controller.

It is incredibly comfortable in the hands, playing beautiful construction standards from chassis to buttons. Thumbs sticks are extremely smooth and responsible, and headphones jacks are very welcome to increase the two reimburse buttons in the back.

In addition, the original Pro Controller is clearly remembered for his ridiculous battery life, which lasts about 40 40 hours on a single charge. I am glad to report that the same is the case with the switch 2 Pro Controller. After three weeks of testing for a few hours, I just saw a low battery warning flash on my screen.

So what’s holding it as being really the biggest? Well, unlike the original Pro Controller, this new model is currently not compatible with the PC. It is likely that we will need to wait for the refreshment of steam, but if this happens in the near future, I will not be surprised. I also like the feature of a trigger lock, which allows players to switch according to a wide range of species between digital and analog sensitivity (for example, naturally works for racing games).

Finally, Nintendo is determined not to have a thumbstix not to affect the hall, which is a great shame. This means that, finally, I expect the switch 2 Pro Controller to produce the stack drift. Perhaps not as soon as possible as a pleasure 2 – of which consumers already have reports of flow – but for a controller whose cost is as high, the harsh impact of the hall hurts Thumbs sticks. Twice, considering the sticks, it seems terrific during the game itself.

Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller Review: Price and Availability

    • . 84.99 /. 74.99 / AU $ 119.95
    • Joey is cheaper than a set of 2 (94.99 / £ 74.99 / aU $ 139.95)
    • Prices in the United States actually planned. Hit him from 79.99

If I can make a potential criticism in the Switch 2 Pro Controller, this is certainly not cheap.

This is now buying from Nintendo’s own website as well as retailers. 84.99 / £ 74.99 / AU is available for stocking in $ 119.95. Due to the rise in prices, the American people are slightly bad here, which has seen the controller’s KRRP been extended to the original $ 79.99.

Overall, though, the switch 2 Pro Controller is much cheaper than the couple of 2 controllers (. 94.99), while its cost is like the UK (74.99).

That said, there are cheap alternatives to controllers such as 8 Bitdo Ultimet 2 (69.99 /. 59.99 – AU $ 90). This is an unusual controller that is worth considering, especially when it has recently received a firmware update to allow it to switch 2 connectivity.

Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller Review: Design and Features

    • Lightly brown color on-black aesthetic design
    • Game Chat and GL/GR buttons as well as headphones jacks
    • Otherwise, the original pro controller is very similar

Keep the original model along with the switch 2 Pro Controller, and you will feel a lot of similarity. Its big face buttons are about the same size here, the DPP is very matching, and the controller still uses digital triggers. I think an option for gender for gender like racing games, through the trigger locks, it would have been good here. But there are some more upgrades that I am very happy about.

The switch 2 Pro Controller adds some very welcome features. To access the console’s Baspok Voice Chat system, we see Joey 2, like a dedicated game chat button. In addition, you are getting a 3.5 mm headphone jack, which – to a dangerous extent – was not present on the original Pro Controller. Finally, a pair of GL/GR buttons in the back part of the pad can be regenerated on the basis of each game, though I will touch more and more on the people involved in the following performance section.

In terms of sight, the switch 2 Pro controller is easy, but the beautiful springs. The original semi -translice shape has been converted to a blurred black shell. Meanwhile, the top that has bumpers and stimulations – as well as a thumb stick shaft – has taken a light brown coating that I think all other kinds of black game pads look good. I will not say that this department is winning an award in aesthetics, but it is a simple and beautiful design that does not appear out of place.

Otherwise, there is not much to report the front of the fact that it is an incredibly comfortable non -proportional controller that is sitting firmly in hand. I have found that the switch 2 Pro Controller grip is a great size, and the pad fits easily into my hands, so that my index fingers have set firmly on the triggers. I felt the same about the original Pro Controller, but his successors never feel better in this regard.

Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller Review: Performance

    • Thumbs sticks feel the best during gameplay
    • A clearly funny quantity of battery life
    • The GL/GR button is actually a Goodsand

Right now, let’s talk about something that most people hobby remember the original pro controller – its seemingly non -existent battery life. Although there is no significant improvement with the switch 2 Pro controller here, I cannot say exactly what this is a bad thing.

Yes, you can expect this new model to go to a distance of about 40-45 hours of battery life. Since the launch, on average, I have played my switch 2 with about 1-3 1-3 hours of Pro Controller daily.

Three weeks later, I just saw a low battery warning flash on my screen. This is the best battery life that also leaves the best controllers of the Nintendo switch. It is worth noting that it takes some time to recharge such a heavy battery-about 3-4-. Hours to be precise – but do it through the USB -c overnight and you will never need to worry about being out of juice.

Otherwise, it is only a pleasure to play Switch 2 Pro Controller games. Thumbs sticks are the real heroes here, who seem to be almost impossible and incredibly responsible during the game.

It likes the exact plateframers Super Mario 3D World + Baiser’s Foundation Or whites nickel racers like F Zero GX Feel terrific to play (even if the latter still benefits from the wireless game cube controller button setting).

One of my grips here will be that Thumbs sticks are not an effect, Nintendo apparently selects once again for conventional potentials. This is a disappointing commitment that we also see in Sony and Microsoft’s first party pad, and as a result, it is currently difficult to estimate how long the switch 2 pro controller’s sticks will be. He said, “Thumbs sticks here feel decisive than Joey 2, so I expect that they will remain on the good deals for a long time.”

However, I think my favorite addition to Switch 2 Pro Controller is the Rear GL/GR button. We have seen such a re -buttable button on countless third -party controllers, but I really like how Nintendo implemented them. Holding the home button during the game, you will bring a quick menu that allows you to assign GL and GR as secondary inputs.

It also works on the basis of every game, which means that when you hop from the game to the game, you do not need to re -assign permanently. They too can live an absolute life. I Signs of zelda: the tears of the kingdomFor, for, for,. For example, I binding the sprint and jumping the operations on these buttons, allowing me to access the camera control.

Similarly, I Higherol Warriors: Final EditionFor, for, for,. By binding the left and right de -pads with the GL/GR, I through my inventory through my inventory without interrupting or adopting a strange grip without stopping or adopting the grip of a strange claw.

Otherwise, you can expect a controller who only performs where it is counted. Gero’s goal is still incredibly solid and correct for the game Splatoon 3For, for, for,. And you still have the support of Field Communications (NFC) to scan Ambo’s data in your favorite sports.

How did I experience Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller

    • Tested for three weeks, on average 1-3 hours each day
    • Compared to the original Pro Controller and similar third -party game pads
    • Played both modern and retroist games,

I have tested the switch 2 Pro Controller since the launch – about three weeks. On average, I played with one to three hours a day with a controller, massively choosing dock mode play on my LG CX OLED TV.

In my time with the controller, I passed it with sports in a variety of genders. This includes Legend of Zelda: Tears of Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, Higherol Warriors: Final Edition, Mario Cart WorldFor, for, for,. Street Fighter 6F Zero GX, DeltaroneFor, for, for,. And Super Mario 3D World + Baiser’s Foundation.

I compare the Switch 2 Pro Controller feature to the original Pro Controller and third -party game pads, which includes the Gamer Trantula Pro and the original 8 -bit doodo ultimat. Although I want Nintendo’s pad hall to bring the hall to the table, its overall feature set and comfortable game experience still enables the crowded controller to consider the market.
