When we approaching support for the end of Windows 10 on October 14, 2025, Microsoft is throwing another bone to its more stubborn users. The company had earlier announced that for the first time, consumers will be able to buy Windows 10 Extension Security Updates (ESUS) a year for $ 30. Today, Microsoft revealed that you will also be able to use a thousand prizes points to eliminate ESU. This can be helpful, if like me, you are slowly collecting Microsoft’s rewards and completely forgotten that they are present. (You can get points by searching on the bung, buying at the Microsoft store and playing the Xbox Games.)
To recover, Windows 10 ESU will receive Big Fix, security updates and technical support by October 13, 2026. If you do not pay ESU, you can still continue to use Windows 10, you will not get any major updates. At least, though, Microsoft will continue to supply Windows Defnder Anti -Virus Intelligence Updates by October 2028, MS 365 app security works. I will also start to see you a lot of notifications to update to Windows 11 this October.
Microsoft says Windows 10 users will be able to enroll in their ESU through notifications and Windows settings. Enrollment Wizard is currently available for Windows Internal Testers, and the company plans to start it in front of ordinary consumers in July, which has extensive availability in mid -August.
I can understand why Windows 10 users will be reluctant to move. It was a rock solid upgrade after Windows 8’s Fiasco, and it is just annoying to adjust your entire workflow for the entire new OS. But I also liked Windows 11 when he debuted in 2021, as he had a better Windows experience. Microsoft has also solved most of my concerns with Windows 11 so far – for example, you can eventually see the app on the task bar, rather than keep them hidden for aesthetics.
