Recent tears of Google Play Services have revealed that Android users can soon find a feature that has been missing for a long time: a cross -device sink system like Apple’s hand -off. This feature, which is surprisingly labeled “hand -off” in new codes strings, can be part of Google’s wider pressure to improve its ecosystem in multiple devices.

According to a new report, Google Play Services version 25.25.31 Beta contains several new features. These strings “mention the ability to access apps, media, and notifications and access them on your devices,” “Synchronize your devices,” and “access your device to your files.” It points to a system that makes users more easily moving between Android devices while maintaining apps and content in synchronization.

Earlier notifications had already pointed to a feature called “App Cast”, which would allow users to stream apps from one device to another. Now it seems that the app cast will be part of this new hand -off system. If it is fully released, it can allow Android users to start work on their phone and later lift it on a pill, chromebock, or any other device connected to their Google account.

Apple already offers such experience through its continuity system. Samsung has a similar setup in its galaxy products. On the other hand, Android users often have to rely on third party apps or specific solutions related to brand, which do not always work together. A built -in hand -off feature can make Android devices feel more connected and easy to use as a group.

Another useful addition is the notification sync. Right now, information on an Android device is usually visible to others. This can be disappointing, especially for users who switch between devices during the day. With the hand -off, notifications can be properly synchronized in the equipment, so users have to deal with them only once. Updated also includes the features of sharing files and media.

Google has not officially announced a hand -off, so it is unclear when it can end or if it will be available on all Android devices. Since this is part of Google Play Services, there is a good chance that many devices can eventually support it.

Apple and Samsung users have this kind of feature for years, so Google is good to see working at a similar work. I believe this is a step in the right direction for Android’s ecosystem.
