Google Earth completes 20 years
In a blog post, Tech Dev announced a new feature for Google Earth and said, “Today, we are celebrating this milestone’s anniversary with a historic street view in Google Earth.” With this feature, users can see different fields of the planet as they appear in different years. The feature supports the street view in addition to the bird view.
In particular, this feature was first introduced in Google Maps in September 2024. This allows users to find geography from a particular location using the company’s library of satellite and air images. The version of this feature maps in the past allows users to go for 80 years. This feature also created a trend on social media as consumers tried to revise their childhood homes.
In addition to novelty, Google claims that this feature will also help ordinary consumers and experts understand how the changing climate and human intervention affect forests, lakes and other geography.
Maps also presented the Time Lips Mode in the historic street view, which shows the slide show of changes from time to time. It is said that this feature is an interactive experience developed by millions of satellite images.
Google Google Earth Pro is also introducing Gemini -powered AI insights for consumers. This feature will allow consumers to ask for information about geography, such as the total earth’s umbrella coverage, and more. The company will allow consumers to ask natural language questions and get answers from Google Earth data. Tech Dev said that this feature will be included in the coming weeks.
