Last weekend, I was running home for a wonderful break in the country. I usually use Google Maps to guide the home on a long drive, even if I have gone on this path before. This is an excessive comfort. However, he tried his best to take me on an unwanted adventure.

To get home from the small town I visited, I had a choice between a sharp toll route or a long -running mountain pass. I chose the toggle “Avoid Tools” before leaving, thinking that the app would suggest that I use the pass. However, it was the best alternative available. It was not at all. Instead, the maps suggested two highly different routes that would take me two hours north or 90 minutes south by the best way. In absent, I came very close to taking the recommended deviations. And if I had not looked at my Android auto display curiously, I would have been eliminated from home.

This incident opened my eyes to the major problem affecting Google Maps navigation viciousness, especially on the open road. After reading the count, it takes about the maps online in which drivers are guided on the icons routes, I would say that this is a widespread problem. So, if you have to tell the story, I would love to hear it. I am sure other readers will do.

    The questions are:

    • Have Google Maps ever lost you? If so, tell us about the experience.
    • Google Maps have you the worst place you have now?
    • Do you think the maps have been more wrong and less reliable over time?
    • What is your preferred navigation app on Android, and why do you choose it?
    • Will you pay a premium for Google Maps that offers awareness of the smart navigation and context?
