Yesterday, nothing has confirmed the key specification for phone 3: its chip set. Nothing has been made clear that nothing will be a high -end flagship release, which is removed from the way to refer to the phone as a “real flagship”. In this way, many of us expected nothing to get the current flagship chip of Qualcomm, Snapdragon 8 Elite.
However, this is not the case.
It is now official that nothing will use the new, but slightly less powerful, Snapdragon 8s General 4 chip sets. It is still a powerful piece of silicon, but it is not the biggest and most powerful of Qualcomm. In this way, some people (rightly) are worried that nothing will be a “real flagship” smartphone.
I understand frustration, but I think the use of Snapdragon 8 S. General 4 is a potentially excellent move rather than Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Nothing’s iPhone 3 This is what do you think about this chip choice?

Nothing should have used 8 elite

Not the best, but still good is good
Compare the two snap dragon chips as well, and you can easily identify the differences between them. Instead of the Qualcomm Elite found in 8 Elite, the 8s General uses the Older Cairo CPU. The Snapdragon 8S General 4 also has 35 % less CPU watch speed, slightly slow GPU, and an old 4NM design (compared to 3NM Snapdragon 8 Elite).
There are more compromises. Snapdragon 8 S. General 4 8K recording or 4K/120FPs does not support slow motion video. It also lacks MMVO 5G. Meanwhile, all those things are readily available on Snapdragon 8 Elite.
The Cairo CPU is not the latest design of Qualcomm, but the sequence in 8s General 4 is still impressive, which includes a Cartax-4 prime core that includes 3.2GHz and seven cortex-A 720 core (three on three 3.0GHz, three on 2.8GHz, and two at 2.0GHz). The result is a chip that is 31 % faster than the Snapdragon 8s General 3 and 39 % more efficient. In addition, since it is a unique setup that does not include all the big core and no small core, it can also improve Snapdragon 8 General 3 in multi -core performance.
I can’t see Snapdragon 8s General 4 and will be disappointed that this chip has not been selected.
There is more to like. The GPU performance on Snapdragon 8s General 4 is 49 % better than the 8s General 3, and there is a ray tracing there. The chip also supports 4K/60fps video recording, WiFi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0.
We have not yet used the phone with the Snapdragon 8s General 4, but only based on its specific sheet, I can’t see the chasset and will not be disappointed that nothing is selected for the phone 3. Is this number one the most powerful Qualcomm chip that could not be used? No, but it is also foolish to show that anyone but the hardest consumers will lose their strength.
The main advantage of the use of Snapdragon 8s General 4
Snapdragon 8s is another upside down of General 4, and this is probably the most important. Since this Snapdragon is less powerful than 8 elite, it also means that it is cheaper, which does nothing to its “real flagship” smartphone experience at a lower cost than competition.
Nothing has confirmed that nothing will cost £ 800 in the UK, while rumors have suggested $ 800 in the United States. With the confirmation of Snapdragon 8s General 4, it becomes more likely that the US dollar is accurate. And with some cash savings on the front of the chip set, which theoretically gives the company more wuggled room to ensure that it provides other aspects of the phone, such as its design, cameras, battery, software, etc.

Couldn’t Snapdragon 8 swims for Elite and still rumors can hit $ 800 MSRP? Of course, Samsung specially works with the Galaxy S25, but as we have seen with this phone, it also comes at the cost of a blend design, outdated camera sensor, and minor battery and charging fountains.
There is still a lot that is not known about the phone 3, but Snapdragon 8s General 4 confirms that we are probably looking at one of the two consequences. On the one hand, it is fully possible that nothing will work with the rest of the phone 3, and we can get handsets with a compromised chip set without any real benefit.
Selecting Snapdragon 8s General 4, nothing can be the best decision for phone 3.
But on the other hand, nothing can still fulfill the “real flagship” promise. It may have seen Snapdragon 8 S. General 4 as a flagship offering, while making sure that the flagship camera, long battery, fast charging, and excellent software may be implemented at a lower price if the Snapdragon ends with 8 elite. This is the ideal result, and this is what I like to think about.
