This new software update has left behind this special Galaxy Watch model

The Galaxy Watch 4 can be closer to the end of your software journey. Samsung has just launched One OS6 -based One -8 Watch Beta, but this latest update has come with a small catch, which can mean for its older Smart Watch owners. In a beta rollout notice shared on Samsung’s official forums, the company notes that only Galaxy Watch 5 or new model users are eligible to join the program. Although Samsung did not go out and said that Watch 4 will not get a new UI 8 watch software, the absence of 2021 models from this list talks about volumes. The Galaxy Watch was the first Samsung Smart Watch that converted Tzin to Rapid Wear into an OS platform, which helped launch in August 2021. But the same date of August now works against it. Samsung’s unofficial update policy for smart watches usually includes almost three years of great support. The clock puts the clock 4 on the hard deadline before its age is over – and wearing OS 6 cannot come on time.

Clearly, Samsung’s official three -year promise actually made us wearing his old -fashioned clothing, not necessarily on the newly wearing OS models. This gives the company some wogel room, though history shows that the clock is colliding. For example, the Galaxy Watch 3 just won his last update at the end of 2023, just three years after the launch. Watch 4 was last updated in May 2025.

In practice, what it means, there is still a possibility that small updates or security patches can reach later. But based on the way an UI 8 watch rollout is being handled, it seems that big refreshments have been planned for the Galaxy Watch 4.

This is not unexpected at all. Limited hardware devices usually fall from the updated roadmap once new features increase old chip sets. Samsung is not alone in this – both Google and Apple’s smart watchs follow a similar life. Apple usually supports its Apple watches for at least five years with software updates and hardware repairs when the product was last sold, which can sometimes bring the support window up to seven years.

He said, “It was nice to officially see Samsung confirming his plans, especially for users who bought Watch 4, expecting long -term help.” Flip side, people who are still using the device can find some comfort to know that it has a strong run, and the wearing space is faster.
