This Android Launcher reminds me of the best possible way of Windows Phone

I have to admit: I was not an Android phone fan before. I too was not fond of iPhone. Instead, I was a complete student of Windows Phone. I liked the Metro UI, which included a fresh, tile -based interface that popped on the OLED screen. I love the interface and cameras that I bought Lumia 1020 and Lumia 950.

I know about Android launchers who have been following the look of this Windows Phone for years, and are briefly suppressed with them in the day. But the itching of my Windows Phone is stronger than ever, and I found two launchers who approached it. After watching both the Square Home and Launcher 10 on my pixel phone (Script, I know), I finally settled on the former.

What do I like about a square house

    Headley Simonis / Android Authority

Both launchers do a great job of imitating the Windows Phone experience from a visual point of view. I would especially give the launcher 10 edge for its app drawer design, but I chose the Square Home for several reasons.

Perhaps the main reason for this is that direct tiles are available for free, while Launcher 10 needs to be paid to unlock. Interestingly, direct tiles were a vegate response to Microsoft’s Android, which presented square or rectangular tiles that permanently disclose updates and other information. For example, you can see your favorite pictures in the phone tile, notifications in Facebook tiles, and photo tiles.

The Square Home mainly settled directly tiles with information obtained from your notifications, and it shows that your permission is obviously needed. Nevertheless, there is a great way to live these tiles, and you will find information like Gmail pieces, calendar entries and more. I also like the media widget directly tile which is popped up, which is derived from the media widget in the notification shed. And yes, you can really communicate with media controls. In another clean contact, the old platform turning tiles are also here, showing you different information nogs. Like the after -version of Microsoft’s platform, you can also make these tiles transparent to display your wallpaper. So I never really felt as if I was losing massively.

The launcher also won me with his tile adjustment. Microsoft allowed Windows Phone users to adjust the size of these tiles, double wide regular size to one quarter. The Square Home allows you to adjust the tile size intuitively by putting the tile longer, such as Windows Phone (and even with some extra size options). Launcher offers grain size adjustment with slider through 10 defaults, but if you are a fan of Windows Phone like me, it is not so intuitive and familiar. Thankfully, if you also want more detailed adjustments, you can dig a little deep into the square house.

The launcher is close to the visual design of the 10 Windows Phone, but the Square Home usually won me.

I also appreciate the most appropriate options for the Square Home payment. You can choose to pay $ 1 in a year or pay a timely $ 6. I know that many companies made a timely purchase for financial reasons for greed. But I was happy to see this option here. Saying that, the team does not properly bring the benefits of premium payment to its website or play store listings. However, it seems that green icons settings are paid for an increase. These include modern dynamic images, media controller functionality, many indicators, and your font selection.

Another point in favor of a square house is its advertisement -free nature. The advertisement -assisted app is not wrong at all, and Launcher 10 has been stopped at its point of view (seemingly limited to the settings menu, while allowing you to get rid of them), but it is good to get advertising -free experience from the box.

Windows Phone is dead, but Square Home is promoted

    Headley Simonis / Android Authority

The list of the features of the Square Home does not stop here. It offers a custom app drawer, wallpaper -based colorful tactics, support for tablets and foldable phones, and private space support. The team recently updated the app to solve problems with the widget in a UI 7, so developers are still actively fixing things.

I can think of a few smaller areas of square home improvement, though, like better handling of third -party widgets and more preset tile color. But these are relatively Inf’s important desire list, and we certainly have a complete feature experience.

Although the Windows Phone ship departed a long time ago, I was happy to see that the community had raised the sticks and sprinkled it with it. I am definitely partial of the square house, but these two launchers are the best ways to effectively imitate this experience. Now, about the construction of your Windows Phone Launcher for Microsoft Android.
