When with the onset of Pixel 10, one of the AI features of Google has quietly changed the name and has further revealed how it works. According to a new report, which was previously known as “Pixel Sense”, is now known as “Magic Que”. The Magic Qi Gemini is not an alternative, but rather it works more inactive and works in the context. Although Gemini still needs to mobilize it by gesture, the magic cue is designed to monitor your screen silently and suggest helpful information or operations on which the app you are using and what is happening on the screen.
For example, if someone asks for your flight number in the messaging app, the magic Qi can automatically pull this information from your Gmail and present it to you, which can save you itself. This is a small feature, but one thing that can reduce friction during daily use.
According to the leak, the magic cue uses the recent screen activity, the app and uses some data from your Google apps and account – which includes Gmail, calendar, cap, task, contacts and messages – to find out what can be useful at this time. All the data has been processed in which Google is described as a “safe, isolated environment”. Consumers will also have control of what apps can access magic.
The magic cue allegedly highlights two major functions:
- Immediately find information: It brings relevant information based on the app that you are currently using.
- Eliminate tasks faster: It recommends links to other apps where you can complete the relevant steps.

What is still not clear is how the magic cue will be mobilized or how it will look on the screen. The assumption is that it will work in the background and will automatically appear when needed, rather than a gesture like Gemini.
Google actually planned a “pixie” assistant for Pixel devices, but the idea was allegedly excluded. Instead, the magic cue is part of the change towards AI, which works quietly and effectively in the background.
Compared to Apple’s Siri or Samsung’s Galaxy AI, magic can appeal to people who prefer less interaction and more timely help. And now that Gemini has been fully integrated into the pixel software, features like Magic Qi can provide pixel users more smooth and active experience than they are offered by competition.
