- Google has removed a new pixel camera update in the Play Store.
- It seems that the update eliminates the social share shortcut, which was introduced in 2019.
- This menu pops up for a few seconds after taking photos, which allows you to quickly share your snap by choosing apps.
Google introduces a social share shortcut to the Pixel Camera app in the 2019 Pixel 4 series. This sharing menu will pop up immediately after taking photos on your pixel phone, and will enable your snaps sharp sharing. Now, it seems that this option has disappeared with the latest app.
9TO5GOGLE There are reports that the Pixel Camera does not have a social share shortcut in 9.9 update (version 9.9.106.76.767010485.16). I can confirm that this feature is completely missing at my Pixel 7 Pro after updating this version.
This was a useful feature in the theory, as the shortcut would appear for a few seconds after you captured the picture and sharing your desired app quickly. Taping the arrow above will also reveal more apps to share the picture.

I can’t talk for anyone else, but I don’t remember the last time I used a social share shortcut. This feature was activated on my phone, but I always thought it looks unnoticed, the icon of this app has been partially confused. It also did not help that the social share allegedly dropped WhatsApp support. However, I hope Google will return to this concept in the future as it will save users for a few seconds. However, I want to see another better UI.
This update apparently had to include Google’s Education Hub. This is effectively a super -charging version of the camera app tutorials, which is seen on the phones of several other brands, which can make you tap the question mark icon in different ways of variety and examples. However, we are not yet seeing this involvement.
In any case, we have sought more information about Google’s missing social share shortcut and whether it is returning to the menu. As soon as the company responds to our email, we will update our article with Google’s response.
