Apple today announced iPados 26 in the WWDC 25, which significantly improves multi -tasking capabilities, visual design and AI capabilities.
Let’s start with multi -tasking capabilities, which have been promoted with this release. When you open multiple apps simultaneously, the iPados 26 app greatly improves window management. Apps can be minimized, size can be changed, and tiles and OS can arrange them with a single flick.
IPados 26 debts are exposed to Macos, so you can quickly see all your open windows spreading on the same screen. And with the stage manager, you can group Windows in separate stages, which can also be divided into internal and external display.
Another major Macos feature that is being borrowed is the menu bar. The apps can now be a menu bar at the top, which can be enabled with a simple swipe down or moving the mouse pointer upwards. This shows a full menu bar, as you see on the Mac, and the developers can also customize it according to their apps. You can also see the minimum, minimal, and the size of the control in the corner, and the size of the control.
Mac preview app also offers iPados on the iPad 26. Now you can open all your photos inside this app while also able to open and edit PDF files. It can even be used to attract and write Apple Pencil.
Further fulfillment of multi -tasking capabilities is updated background works. Now, apps that develop a long running process, such as exporting video or uploading a large file, can appear directly into activities, allowing you to track them while performing other tasks. Developers will have access to the latest background tasks API so that they can benefit from this feature.
The file app also gets a theory on iPados 26. It has a new UI that has a latest list view that shows more files on the screen with additional information. The folders can be customized with custom colors, icons and emojis so that they can be made more recognizable. Also, access files can easily be dragged into the dock with any folder.
Other new features include being able to choose different microphones for each app or even individual websites. The sound isolation removes the hard noise from the recorded audio and the selected airpodes model will also get ‘studio quality’ recording. Local arrests allow you to get high quality recording of audio and video from any video conferencing app, so that you can save or share these recording later.
Finally, like Apple’s other platforms, iPados 26 is getting a new coat of paint with liquid glass. Many UI elements have been re -designed with a new parliamentary material layer that responds to the content below it. IPados 26 also improves new features of Apple Intelligence, such as phones, facetime, and direct translation of messages, such as AI’s capabilities. You also feature update shortcut features with more powerful options that allow you to summarize text and make pictures.
The iPados 26 will be available today as a developer son and next month as a public son. The last release this year later this year’s iPad Pro (M4), iPad Pro 12.9 inches (third generation and later), iPad Pro 11 inches (first generation and later), iPad Air (M2 and later), iPad Air (third generation and later), iPad (A16), iPad Generation and later (APAP) IPad Mini (A17 Pro), iPad Air (A17 and later).
