When the original iPhone was launched about 20 years ago, Apple’s software was made to look familiar. The notes looked like a yellow legal pad and the maps felt like a folded paper map. The design helped users understand how to use the touch screen before using the other.
But by 2013, Apple looked at this look with iOS 7. This update introduced a flat, minimal aesthetic manufactured for the digital period-not more fake textures or real-world references. It was all about color, transparency and simplicity.
Now, after more than a decade, Apple has been working again with another large design iOS 26 – And iPados 26, Wachos 26, Macos 26, Visionos 26, TVOS 26 and crossing the board in the carplay.
Well, back to the design. It is called a liquid glass and glasses in everything, almost brings the sound of the future. Think about transparency, brightness and more asymic, united look that echoes aesthetic VisionosisSoftware behind Apple’s Vision Pro Headset.

- Tool bars, tabs and these app elements now use light, glass transparency.
- The app’s icons and widgets are found to be a fresh design to match new style.
- The address of the safari is a barber.
- The camera app has also been improved to align with glass -affected look.
- The popout menu is now the focus of a big focus, which makes the navigation more vibrant.
- The new design responds in real time what you do on your phone.
- It molds between the dark and light environment.

But why is Apple re -design now?
Just as a flat design was developed with new hardware such as Apple Watch and Large iPhones, as well as the liquid glass shape is set for the next – and also includes a large release of 2027.
Apple is allegedly working on a large iPhone design to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original model. Internally, it is called the “glass wing”, which is affected by the transparent wings. It is expected that the future iPhone will be involved in glass aesthetic works, including potentially radical glass sides, ultra -thin bags and a display -free display.
So yes, iOS 26 Not just a software refresh – it’s the foundation for the next round of the Apple iPhone design.
