After weeks of speculation and rumor, Apple’s WWDC 2025 event eventually took place with this year’s iPhone software preview. The new version, named after the iOS 26, provides other changes in existing apps, as well as a new “liquid glass” aesthetic.

For many, the new features in iPhones will be an interesting change. But not everyone will experience new shapes and new abilities. If you have an old iPhone, it can’t run iOS 26.

To be clear, you can still use the iPhone that is not running existing software, but you will lose new features and security updates.
