A group representing Indian Telecom Giants’ Reliance Geo and Indian Errheel has said that their business will face a satellite spectrum at prices that benefit satellite internet services like satellite internet services at “blasphemy” rates.
In May, the Indian Telecom Regulator suggested that satellite service providers paid four percent of their annual income to offer services. The star link lobbied India for the auction of the spectrum, but only assigned the license according to the global trend, saying it was a natural resource that should be shared by companies.
The Cellular Operators Association of India, in a letter to the Telecom Ministry on May 29, reviewed the suggestions for the pricing, which states that traditional players pay advanced auction compensation for the telecom spectrum, which will pay the government about 21 % more than 21 % more than 21 %.
“The price of per megazz should be compared to both or at least, especially when used to reach the same customers for equal services,” said Reuters.
He added, “Satellite services can provide a competitive and affordable alternative to the Broadband.”
Reliance, led by Asia’s richest man Ambani, and Airtel did not respond to Reuters’ opinion. The star link was not available for comment immediately.
A senior Indian government source told Reuters on Wednesday that the telecom ministry is still reviewing the recommendations made by the regulator, adding that such industry concerns have been raised in the past.
Telecom players like Reliance Geo are concerned that they will offer similar wireless broadband services such as satellite providers but pay more prices, said an industry source with a direct knowledge of the situation.
Reliance and others have spent about $ 20 billion (about $ 1,71,773 crore crore rupees) in recent years to get 5G spectrum through auction to offer telecom, data and broadband services.
Ambani’s company failed to lobby New Delhi for months for the auction of the satellite spectrum, and did not administratively allotted it as the Musk star link wanted.
Although Reliance and Errillt have signed a distribution deals for starlinking equipment, they will continue to compete with the Musk offers for consumers once they are launched.
Telecom minister Jyotraditia Sandia told the print news website on Tuesday that the process of obtaining a license to the star link is “almost complete”.
