Apple was fined 500 million Million Million Million Million by the European Commission (EC) in April for violations of the Digital Markets Act (DMA). After that, Kapartino appealed for the decision. John Grobar, who is from Doring Fireball, shared a full official statement of Apple, which could indicate a possible turning point for Apple users in the European Union.
In Apple, we design our technology to work without interruption, so it can provide a unique experience to our customers and expect our products. The requirements of the European Union’s mutual cooperation pose a threat to this foundation, while creating a process that is irrational, expensive and suppresses innovation.
These requirements will also provide sensitive information to the hungry companies with data, which poses a massive threat to our EU users. Companies have already requested the most sensitive data of our users – from their notification content, to the full date of each stored Wi -Fi network on their device – give them the ability to access personal information that Apple does not even see.
Finally, these deeply poor rules that only target Apple – and no other company – will strictly restrict our ability to supply modern products and features to Europe, which will lead to a low experience of the user for our European customers. We are appealing to these decisions, and our European customers expected to protect the high quality experience.
Particularly the last paragraph is one in which Apple users are most important in the European Union. The fact is that Apple “can strictly limit its ability to supply modern products and features to Europe”, which will create a “inferior user experience for our European users”.
For one, Apple can easily comply with the EC’s co -operation requirements, which include full access to iOS notifications, background implementation concessions and systemic features of third -party rivals. Apple also has to allow Apple to replace the air drop as a default wireless file sharing utility on Apple Devices. From this point of view, naturally privacy concerns will be raised as the third party will be given system -level privileges, which are against Apple’s morals.
In another realistic scenario, Apple will be seen leaving air -drop support for its users in the European Union in another realistic scenario. He also mentioned that Apple could prevent the offer of Apple Watch and Air Pods in the EU markets due to the demand for EU cooperation. This situation seems to be less likely because wearing wearers are a huge profits for the kepertino. As it stands, we have to wait now and see how this legal battle comes out.
