According to the latest telecom subscription data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRII), Reliance Geo continued its strong customer speed in April 2025, adding 2.6 million new users and a strong 5.5 million active users.
Telecom Dev further strengthened its dominance in the 5G -fixed wireless access (FWA) class, with 81.9 % market share.
The telecom industry increased a total of 1.9 million users in April, maintaining a positive pace after the July 2024 tariff increased. Between July and November 2024, the sector lost 21.9 million users due to stability, especially per user (ARPU) class in low average income.
Geo users increased by 2.2 million in March and 1.8 million in February. The operator’s active subscriber base also increased by 5.5 million, which is only a minor benefit in March to 5.0 million in March and in the first two months. As a result, Geo’s Visitor Location Register (VLR) ratio-acting indicators of active consumers-up to 96.6 % in April, is more than 96.0 % in March.

BSNL lost 0.2 million gross users and 1.8 million active users in April, the lowest VLR ratio is 61.4 %.
Geo added 0.57 million new 5GFWA users in April, more than 0.33 million in March, which is driven by the aggressive expansion of its generous fiber service, now available in 5,900 cities and cities across India. The company maintains commanding 81.9 % in the 5GFWA market.
The Indian Aerotle increased the same segment by 0.16 million users, which maintained its 18.1 percent.
In the machine -to -machine (M2M) segment, the Indian took the lead with 53.3 % market share, followed by Vodafone Idea 23.6 %. In March, Geo’s market share in April was widely stable at 18.2 %, compared to 18.3 %.
Trey noted that data from users of Mobile Broadband (MBB) and Fiber To the Home (FTTH) for Geo and Bharati since December 2024 are not available, and April 2024 is based on the last report of November 2024.
