In an important achievement for solar astronomy, scientists have unveiled the most detailed theory of the sun about the corona of the sun. Captured in California using a modern adaptive optics system called Kona in Good Solar Telescope (GST), the new footage offers an unprecedented explanation of the long -term ambiguous phenomena from the earthly environment. Colorful images to represent the hydrogen alpha light show the cold plasma that the sun’s magnetic fields trace in the Messezing loop and Arx.
The fastest solar ideas have yet to show the coronal rain, racing plasmide, and rotating promises
According to researchers at the NJIT’s Center for Solar-Terrorist Research, the adaptive optics allows the 1.6-meter telescope to reach 63 km its theoretical resolution. Of these results, the fastest sight of coronal rain is still – falling back to the solar level with magnetic field lines in the tight festivals of the plasma, some are just 20 km wide. Unlike the rain of the earth, these plasma threads return the arc and loop in response to the sun’s magnetism. Another amazing discovery is a rapid moving ‘plasmide’.
The footage also captured the importance of rapidly reorganization – plasma loops that anchored on the sun surface, rotate and dance under magnetic stress. Scientists believe that such observations can illuminate the mechanism behind the coronal large -scale anxiety and solar flare to the big drivers of the space weather. Researchers noted that the sun’s surface appears soft and “flopy” due to a short -term plasma jet called Spicols, which is mysterious.
The team’s results were published on Tuesday, May 27 in the nature of the journal.
“This indicates the beginning of a new era in solar astronomy,” said Philip Godde, co -author of the study. Researchers now hope that Daniel’s invoices in Hawaii will implement similar technology in large devices like solar telescopic telescopes.
