- Apple is considering a change in the branding of its operating system.
- Sources claim that the company can start identifying the annual operating system instead of the version.
- It seems that the strategy is imitating the Samsung used for the Galaxy S series.
It is not uncommon for Android OEMS to be influenced by Apple. At the same time, Apple is just ready to take good idea from the other side of the singer. The latest example of this may be a shake -up form of Apple’s operating system.
According to BloombergSources close to the matter say Apple is considering changing how to identify its operating system. Currently, a kepperino -based firm identifies its operating system through a version, such as iOS18. Instead of relying on version number, the company can start using years. Therefore, iOS18 will be re -nominated to iOS 26. Similarly, the other current operating system will be called iPados 26, Macos 26, Wachos 26, TVOS 26, and Visionos 26.
Sources say Apple is considering this change to bring more consistency into its branding and make things easier for consumers. This move will be understandable because currently versions number are all over – iOS 18, Wachos 12, Macos 15, and Visionos 2.
If this strategy seems familiar, the reason is that this strategy is like a Samsung used with the Galaxy S series. After the release of the Galaxy S10, Samsung chose to go to the year of release instead. So the Galaxy S10 successor was the Galaxy S20, which was released in 2020.
There are some differences between what Samsung did and what is considered about Apple. The first difference is that this brand applies to Apple’s software and not on its hardware. Secondly, Apple is using next year instead of release years. Therefore, the new iPhone OS, which will be released in 2026, will be known as iOS 27.
The news has arrived shortly after the news has been discovered that Apple can follow in the footsteps of Android OEMS in another way. A report claims that Apple is examining the 200 MP main camera, in which many Android devices have already adopted.
