We usually do not report monthly sales data for a car company in a market, but it seems especially noteworthy because of what is happening in the world. In another sign that Elon Musk’s company is in a real difficult place, Tesla is being demolished in Europe. The company’s sales in the European Union, the UK, and the European Free Trade Association increased by 49 percent in the year of April, even as the overall battery sales of electric vehicles increased.
New data from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association revealed that Tesla logged in to only 7,261 new vehicles in April, which was recorded in April 2024. This number is particularly noteworthy in which Tesla recently launched a refreshing model Wi, in which a global seller’s update that was expected to attract new customers hosts. Instead, it appears that the strategy has so far been a failure.
Despite the hope of Musk about the possibility of model Wii sales, Tesla’s brand crisis is deepening. And the reason is not that European consumers are standing on electric vehicles. In the first four months of 2025, sales of the new battery-electrical car increased by 26.4 % to 558,262 units, which contributed 15.3 % of the EU’s total shares.

Tesla’s declining fortunes can be brought to a number of factors, including increasing competition by domestic manufacturers and Chinese rivals, and the Musk’s efforts as part of the Dodge for the Trump administration, or as a departmental government’s performance. Musk’s political interference in the European Union, where he came out in support of the right -wing party of Germany before the country’s elections, seems to have done some favor to Tesla.
Kasturi knows that his political activities are having a negative impact on Tesla. He recently claimed that he would spend less time in Washington and focus more on his company – though he also said he would stay in Trump’s White House at the end of the president’s term.
But when the Republicans were very enthusiastic about Musk’s allegiance to Trump, the country as a whole is ill with their movements. Recent Reuters/IPSOS survey revealed that 58 % of respondents had an inappropriate view of musk, while 39 % were compared to which they saw it favorable. And it seems that the strategy to tie musky closely with its companies’ brands has become useless. A survey that assesses the reputation of top companies, Tesla 95th and Space X 86th, which is the eighth high -ranking brand and the 5th high, respectively four years ago.
During the quarter -income call last month, Musk confidently told investors that the selection would end only after the factory closed for the fresh model Wii in Tesla’s sale. But with the CEO, with so much focus on AI, robotics, and self -run cars, it is not clear that Tesla’s complex problems have to be resolved immediately.
