Google’s new account switcher is developing in more apps

    • Google has been developing a new account switcher since last August.
    • New account is ready in switcher translation, wallets and works.
    • This new format looks more like a web version, and recently appears in maps.

Many of us have many Google accounts, and it may be annoying to switch back and forth between them all the time. Thankfully, Google allows users to add all these accounts to their apps and devices and switch when needed. However, Google’s account is undergoing a new design that makes it in accordance with the web version, and now this new shape is visible in more apps.

The re-designed account switcher is now producing these three Google Apps: Translation (Version 9.9.9.58.76147923.3-Relief), Purse (version 25.20.761154377), and work (version 2025.05.19.760395213.0-release). We also saw a few weeks ago in the Google Maps app, and earlier the KP tear revealed it in the calendar and the cap.

The previous version of the account switcher included many taps to convert to a different profile. You had to look at your basic account, then tap on “Manage your Google Account”, and then tap your account email to display the menu with your other accounts – a little statue and need a lot of tapping.

This new shape is very smooth and as you see on the web. You’ll see your primary account’s profile picture below with the “Manage your Google Account” below, but now is a falling “switch account” menu. Taping it exposes your other accounts, the option of “add another account”, and the setting of “Manage the Account on this device” exposes.

It is very little tape, which is always welcomed. The new form has not yet hit all Google apps, but we can only imagine it will be a matter of time.
