Military Filem has a new pint size increase in its X -series cameras coming in late June: X Half. It is an 18 -megapixel’s “Half Frame” camera with portrait -based sensor and View Finder and a fixed 32 mm F/2.8 lens.
Despite being digital, the X -Half Vintage film is about aesthetic. 9 849.99 Camera is so dedicated to an analog-like lifestyle that it has found the entire secondary screen to pick up one of the 13 films, and it has not been shot at the raw images-just what experience you have about JPG.
The definition of a half -frame military film is slightly different from traditional. Generally, half -frame film camera like Pantas 17 has a grip of 18 mm X 24 mm (half size of Phil frame / 35 mm format). But the X-Half uses a 1-inch sensor, which is 8.8 mm X 13.3 mm, which is half dimensions of APS-C sensor in other military film cameras such as X100vi and X-T5. So I guess it is on a technical ability.
But like Pantas 17 and other original half -frame cameras, the X -Half is about to take comfortable, entertaining snap shots and bring it with you everywhere. It weighs only 8.5 ounces / 240 grams and is mostly small to fit into small bags or even some big pockets. The size of the X -Half is close to the traditional disposable camera, but unlike a time -consuming film camera, it has a glass auto -foxing lens with esophageal improvement, and even shoots some basic 1080 x 1440 video. (Although, in my briefing on the camera, Justin Stellie of the army North America called the lens “some role”. Often a colorful way to say that the lens is not the fastest.)
Once you take some shots here through the traditional optical optical view Finder of the X Half (this is fine, there is no EVF or Hybrid Finder) or its portrait -based 2.4 -inch touch screen, you contact a dedicated smartphone app for additional functions (launching a little after the camera). You can make your two -up diptach like a traditional half frame camera, though here you can select bilateral photos, or you can choose two videos or a picture and a video.
The military has cooked other analog -affected properties in the X -Half app, such as film camera mode that collects your next 36, 54, or 72 images and configure them in the contact sheet. But the film nervousness is even deeper, as the digital film belt will be marked with the film simulation you used. Even is a wrong film advance lever to make deputies, and in the film camera mode it forces you to use every shot.
You can add filters to add filters, such as a light leakage effect, the expiry film format, or ’90s period of time and date stamps in the corner. Of course, since the camera does not shoot RAW, your selected filter and film simulation are completely cooked in the JPG file. You can’t revoke any of them or convert to post processing later as you usually be able to be able to raw.
The Fijeem is definitely taking a unique approach with the X -Half, trying to gain the interest of small photo fans who have been attracted to the flaws and wives of the Vintage Film and Old Point and Shoot Digital Camera in recent years. I don’t know how many of them will have to jump on the occasion of scratching creative itching with 50 850 cameras compared to the cost replacement of a part of it – such as 70 CAMP camp snaps for digital or a 35 mm disposable film camera for $ 10 to 20 $ 20 – but even if it is a good time 17.
