Before the increased reality was ever one thing, Google Glass was: a very hypothetized experience that eventually failed on matters such as privacy (and just looking like a strik). In the I/O session yesterday with Deep Mind’s CEO Demis Consignment, Google’s co -founder Sergey Bern admitted that he made “mistakes” with Google Glass in several areas.
During the session, he said, “I just didn’t know anything about consumer electronic supply chain chains, and really, and how difficult it would be to build it and keep it at a reasonable price and manage all manufacturing and manage the same.”
Bern said he is still a believer in the farm element, though, he added that Zaril’s latest device looks like “ordinary glass” without this thing. He noted that instead of going alone as before, Google has the “great partner” as part of the Android XR expansion reality program in Samsung (Project Mohan Headset) and Zariel (Project and glasses).
According to Bern, when Google came with Glass in 2013, there was a “technology difference”. “Now in the world of AI, these glasses can do what you can do to help you without permanently engage you,” he said.
Google Glass was not a complete flop. It is easy to forget that for many years after its first start, its product was widely closed as an enterprise device, and it was completely shut down in 2023. It also developed a future VR and AR, such as Aculus Rift, HTC View, Meta Quest and Apple Vision Pro. To think about it, though, none of these plans, the world has set fire to the world at all.
