- Customers are starting to see new Google Account Switchers in maps on Android.
- The design brings closer to what is visible to the UI on the web.
Since August 2024, we have been holding tabs on a new account switcher that is in development for Google apps. When the last time we saw it was in an AP’s tear, it shows that Google is developing a new UI for apps like Capes, Maps, and Calendars. Now, it seems that some users are finally starting to see the design popup again.
On the telegram, a user who goes to XSIR shared the following screenshot of a new account switcher design. The UI, which was found in the map app, matches our earlier results, a design that is similar to the web version. In particular, you can see the Primary Account Profile picture, a greeting, the “Manage your Google Account” button, and the broken “Switch Account” menu.

It seems that the new account switcher is not only ready for XSIR. We have seen a handful of other users who have also mentioned the newly designed UI.
This change has not yet eliminated our own devices. This means that we are currently watching the old version, which includes a profile picture that is on the right of the primary account and the Ero button, the “manage your Google Account” button that includes these elements, other connected accounts, one “add a second account” option, and the “management of accounts on this device”. It is unclear how long it will take to get this rollout widely available.
