I often spend hours to tweet my home screen, picking up every element by hand and determining their best place. I do it in all the equipment and launchers, even with the Pixel Launcher. This makes my different settings especially important.
Although I have already written about how the focus on the minimum of the Pixel Launcher has reduced the disturbances and has improved my workflow on my pixel 8, Google Home’s default experience still feels incomplete. It lacks many simple but essential features that the third party’s Android launchers have offered for years, which includes a dedicated backup and maintenance feature.
Do you think Pixel Launcher needs a dedicated layout backup feature?

Why Backup ANandrod Launcher Layout is important

It is very important to be personal, as the default pixel launcher launchers launchout will not be in line with everyone. My setting of icons and widgets is special to my needs, and this system must be able to easily record and copy it.
As I mentioned in the introduction, I often tinker with my home screen, considering the various implementation of icons and widgets. I try to try to fresh, advance the limits of my relief, and enjoy what works and not. This research is part of my work, and I often change the sequence. As a thumb rule, it is always best to save the current design before going into the next design. It provides peace of mind and lets me back to zero quickly and easily.
Whether you save your favorite setting of safe capping, or make multiple settings to experiment, it is important to go back to zero when needed.
Each adult I used the standstone backup system in every adult Android launcher. These backups are stored as setting files, which contain a personalized home screen containing settings, icon and widgets, item spaces, and other details.
The important thing is that this standstone files the file users. They can share it with cloud service, home server, second phone, or friends. For example, Nova Launcher, allows me to save numerous layout files, which gives me a tinker freely and returns to the previous state whenever I need it. Even users can share their layout, which gives the launcher more sense of the community. It is needed only file and any third party data it may require (such as custom icon packs or widgets). However, if you are waded through a relatively shall shallow settings of the Pixel Launcher, it does not offer any way to create a stand loan layout backup file.
Particularly during the Skyrium Play Throw of a particular adventure, I prefer multiple secure files if I change something that I cannot fix or choose the previous state. With a backup file, I can restore my last design. This is not the option of Google’s home app.

At this point, I would like to highlight that the Pixel launcher data has been saved, but only through Google’s broader device backup system. Head Settings> System> BackupTap Backup nowAnd your data will be mirror in your Google account. Although I appreciate that these figures are included, there are problems with this implementation.
When the launcher data becomes a part of my phone’s overall backup, it is practically impossible to remove a separate launcher launch -out file. This design makes it much more difficult to reuse the launcher setting. In addition, what happens if I lose access to my account? Free from my Google address, a separate backup file will reduce access or data reduction issues.
A separate pixel launcher backup system will not focus on Google’s simplicity, but it will give users more control.
Google fails to discuss whether the user’s home screen layout has been added to its backup. There are no documents on the online settings inside the app or on various aid pages.
I understand why Google prefers to bund all its device backup data together. The Thermores of the Pixel Devices upgrades, the order is just as easy as logging in and restoring the rest of the device. This is fantastic, especially for users who are not technically inclined. However, a separate backup facility for Pixel Launcher Layout does nothing to reduce the use of this system. It only provides more control to consumers.
Forgetting electricity users, ordinary people will have a large advantage

Also consider the benefits of low -tech lover users. Imagine that if any of my parents mistakenly deleted an entire launcher screen with their essential apps. They can barely remember the layout, so I couldn’t help them make a copy. A simple setting backup will solve this problem in the heartbeat.
Yes, those users want more control that can easily go to a third party launcher, but I do not consider the solution. These users will lose a number of positive and smart operations of the Pixel launcher. Moreover, third -party launchers still feel terrible on the pixels. Despite efforts to fix Google’s animation problems, they roam my pixel 8. These problems continue to pushing the pixel on the pixel hardware despite its many shortcomings.
I can easily switch to a third party launcher, but this is not a solution, especially looking at the problems of these home apps on Pixel Hardware.
I can also take a screenshot, as many users think it’s a solution. But this task still means that I should manually rebuild my setting instead of automatically applying through a file. The latter is less likely to make more mistakes than me.
Finally, backup system deficiency is just a problem in the wider set of pixel launcher problems, but I’m sure it’s easy to fix. This will benefit the power users who advance the design limits of their phones, and those who do not know that they do not need it unless they need. I think it is time for Google to seriously consider plugging this gap.
